Of course it can - the problem may be that it may not support new and
strange hardware, or features like sleep/suspend/wake. But almost certainly
it'll run - the question is - "how well". Mandrake 9.2 did some weird
things on my laptop, which caused me to revert to 9.1.

Download the LiveCD from 3fl.net.au, which is on WAIX, so most broadband
users can get it without penalty. This'll allow you to run from CD - you
can even save your changes and updates to a USB device.
