[plug] Help needed with CDRECORD on Mdk 10 Official

Much as it's bad form to reply to one's own posts ....

scarcely 3 minutes of ceaseless Googling tells me that /dev/pg1 is
1 = /dev/pg1 Second parallel port ATAPI device

from http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/docs/device-list/devices.txt

Why would it think my Atapi CD burner is a parallel port device?

Hi People,

I installed Mdk 10 Official last night and I was gratified at how snazzy it
was. Everything I tried worked beautifully until ....

I tried to burn an iso.

I got the following:

Just prior to this (when I was burning the MDk 10 CD's the SCSI dev was
0,0,0)

I realise that the burners are now considered ATAPI devices, not SCSI, but
where do I go from here?
