[plug] no ping

Hi all

Had this reply from my isp support chapy in reply to access to 
www.bom.gov.au
and no ping response.

Their ping tool is browser based and I really don't want to be going to 
their
site every time I want to ping or test a host. What Linux options do I 
have for
testing a host in that case?
