if you have access to a host nearby, try an nmap scan (best if you can
reconnect the internet side of the system the other host directly so
there is nothing else between the two hosts (i.e., ISP equipment that
port blocks)
Also grc.com or similar is a quick test that can sometimes be either a
confidence booster or a whoops, how did that happen!
Its something anyone running a firewall should do - how else would you
know its *really* working?
