[plug] Memory stick icon stuck!

Hi all.  Help needed

I'm running Mandrake 10 release version and KDE desktop.  I had left a 
USB memory stick plugged in when I booted, and it created an icon on my 
desktop, called ...
			  Hard Disc
			(part1)[/mnt/
			  removable]

Now, no matter what I do I can't get rid  of said icon.  If I plug the 
mem stick in again I get another (ie 2nd) icon called ...
			Hard Disc
			(part1)[/mnt/
			removable2]

The mounting, unmounting and use of the mem stick doesn't seem impaired 
at all, I just want to get rid of the dead icon on my desktop.

Any ideas please.  Be gentle, I'm new to Linux.
