[plug] Portable Address Book

Looking at Thunderbird (0.8, Debian) It only seems to support LDIF. Is 
this better than Vcard or is there some other reason why LDIF would be 
the only apparent format?
Does it also support Vcard? An Extension maybe?
Is it easy to get other mail clients to import/export Vcard address 
books as well? Mutt, Squirrel Mail?
