One thing I would heavily suggest is using a 2.6 kernel.

Once you're running 2.6 cd burning is as easy as:

cdrecord -v speed=40 dev=/dev/hdc -data MSpr0ncollection.iso

No mucking around with lilo, syn links and kernel modules required.
