Hi,

I've been trying all day to get a usb printer working. I found a
driver for the canon mpc190 at:

 http://www.turboprint.de/english.html

The install script works a treat and seems everything is ok. The kde
print manager and the cups web page both see the printer that is
created. Problem is, printing to it doesn't work. I've tried all three
methods of sending a test page, Turboprint script, kde print manager,
and cups printer manager.

I know that usb is installed and works on my pc. I have a usb mouse
and keyboard and I've downloaded photos from a camera through a usb
link.

The problem seems to be that the printer driver doesn't load for the
device? When I do a 'cat /proc/bus/usb/devices' I can see the canon
printer and it says driver=(none):

< T: Bus=02 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 10 Spd=12 MxCh= 0
< D: Ver= 2.00 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
< P: Vendor=04a9 ProdID=2635 Rev= 1.04
< S: Manufacturer=Canon Inc.
< S: Product=MPC190
< S: SerialNumber=302TDF
< C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=c0 MxPwr= 2mA
< I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 3 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=00 Prot=ff Driver=(none)
< E: Ad=01(O) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
< E: Ad=82(I) Atr=02(Bulk) MxPS= 64 Ivl=0ms
< E: Ad=83(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 64 Ivl=100ms

>From hours of googling I believe it should say driver=usblp. I've done
insmod printer as most of the howtos say but it makes no difference.

It's a libranet (debian) system, kernel 2.4.26 using cups.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks.
