Hi

When I insert a CD in the drive it gets mounted automatically. However just as likely as not when I am done with it I cannot umount it. I (and root) get a busy message. ps shows the following:

jim 3187 0.0 1.5 31772 16348 ? S 14:50 0:00 kdeinit: kio_devices devices /tmp/ksocket-attic/klauncher
jim 3191 0.7 2.6 37780 26912 ? S 14:50 0:02 kdeinit: konqueror -mimetype inode/directory devices:/dev
jim 3195 0.0 1.6 32144 16732 ? S 14:50 0:00 kdeinit: kio_file file /tmp/ksocket-attic/klauncher4fcrVa
jim 3204 0.0 2.0 32968 20892 ? S 14:52 0:00 kdeinit: kio_uiserver
jim 3205 0.0 1.5 30984 16348 ? S 14:52 0:00 kdeinit: kio_file file /tmp/ksocket-attic/klauncher4fcrVa

As far as I know I have closed all programs that I used to look at the CD. I have to manually kill the processes above in order to umount the CD. They do not go away when I close the konqueror window.

I do not see any filesystem related error messages in /var/log/*.
Any idea where the problem is? I'm using MDK 10.0 and kde 3.2.

The S state indicates the processes are waiting on some event. How do I find out what it is?

TIA
Jim
