but basically

nautilus --browser

to launch the old mode 

or fire up System Tools > Configuration Manager (gconf-editor from the
command line if they've decided to move it/rename it to be helpful) and
enable the follow option to enable browser mode by default

apps/nautilus/preferences/always_use_browser
