One thing that I thought might be interesting (at least in the case of a
small set of users) is implementing it so that it will not only check if
the user is a valid user (or alias), but also ensure that the name
associated with the email address matches the comment in the user
account.

E.g. I get a LOT of mail that is addressed to "Joe Citizen
<kirk.turner at myaddress>" where Joe Citizen is just a random name. 

Has anyone seen anything that would check this? Otherwise I was thinking
of writing something in perl to do it.
