[plug] CHM files

has anyone been able to do anything with .chm files
I know that they are M$ compressed HTML help files.
Basically a file consisting of a website that you can browse offline

I have not been able to get them to run under Wine or Winex.
I have not as yet found any tools that will run them as is.
is there a tool that will run it?
can the files be uncompressed?
any help
