There ya go. You need to compile/load the saa7130 module. Under 2.4 you need this driver
http://linux.bytesex.org/v4l2/saa7134.html. Apparently its in kernel under 2.6.

It will play nicely as a standard v4l2 driver and you can use it with xawtv, tvtime and so on.
