  Good Morning,

  Monday night at UWA I performed a upgrade/dist-upgrade of Debian SID including an installation
  of a new kernel from 2.4.24-k7-1 to 2.6.8-k7.
  A most successful night except for 

  I guess that the kernel upgrade has changed the way eth0 functions or so it would seem.

  Looked at dmesg  --  the last line message is

  eth0: no IPv6 routers present  -  are IPv6 routers required for kernel 2.6.8 - if so what
                                    prog's are needed & what other fixes are required.

  If the above is not the cause I guess we keep looking.
