[plug] Raid 0 software? hardware? udma6?

I thought udma5 was 100, udma6 133?
 PIO modes:  pio0 pio1 pio2 pio3 pio4
 DMA modes:  mdma0 mdma1 mdma2
 UDMA modes: udma0 udma1 udma2 udma3 udma4 *udma5

hdparm -Tt /dev/hda

/dev/hda:

=  34.13 MB/sec

any surgestions to speed improvements?
done the -d c m bit with hdparm

am I missing anything in the kernel?
(although since mandrake 9, now gentoo, the speed of
hd has stay pretty constant)
