Sorry about that, my tab and enter keys got into a fight :(

the lines should obviously be <<EOF

dev.mac_hid.mouse_button2_keycode = 68
dev.mac_hid.mouse_button3_keycode = 67
dev.mac_hid.mouse_button_emulation = 1

EOF

I'm not quite sure what to do now, I'm fairly certain that this has
achieved /something/ because F9 and F10 now no longer send text events
to the console, etc... but it certainly hasn't enabled mouse emulation
under xorg-x11.
