Thanks to everyone that replied. I ended up buying them a Digitor line
filter from Dick Smith Electronics (DSE)

They were still happy to rant and rave blaming ozemail (even though if
was one of their techs which gave me the right info on which filter to
use) and Telstra so I had to sneak the filter on when they were out of
the room. I couldn't charge them for it but it was better than hearing
about it nonstop.
