That depends on how it's installed.
On most distros, KDE is installed according to the filesystem heirachy
standard as a part of the system, putting it in /usr/share, /usr/bin,
etc etc etc. Sometimes it'll be in /opt (as pointed out by Rob Davies),
especially if you use third party packages for KDE. If you install it
with Konstruct, it'll usually go in $HOME/kde-$KDE_VERSION . It's
per-user configuration/settings files generally get put in $HOME/.kde.
Parts of KDE can even be put all over the place and listed in the
KDEDIRS environment variable (eg if you install a 3rd-party KDE app in
/usr/local).
Because of all this, it'd be important to know what exactly you're
trying to find. If you're looking for the kde binaries, type "which
kdeinit" and that'll point you to where the core KDE binaries are
installed if they're on your PATH.
