As some of you may know, I have recently gotten a AMD64.
Is it at all possible to 'migrate' my system to 64Bit gradually rather
than a reinstall?
I know that I can run 32Bit apps under a 64bit system so was thinking
that the best thing would be to compile a 64Bit kernel, install it and
boot into my system with the new kernel. Is this possible? I am
running Ubuntu AMD64 Live so I do have access to a 64Bit system if
that's all I need to compile a 64bit kernel.
If it's not possible then it looks like a new install is in order.
Thanks
Tim
p.s. I am writing this under Ubuntu AMD64 Live and love the response
times and stuff
