Thanks Guys, 

Am trying out ChilliSpot and PublicIP currently.  Chillispot looks like
the goods as I don't like the LiveCD idea, not that that would be hard
to change I guess..

Have a look at http://www.publicip.net - I have seen this used in
similar circumstances and it might help you too.
