I'd be having a look at module-assistant.

Basically the process is to make sure that you have the same headers 
available as the currently running kernel.

    * module-assistant prepare
    * module-assistant build {module}
    * module-assistant install {module}

That pretty much takes care of it. (And it's the Debian way :)

I'd do an RTFM before I typed any of those commands, but that's 
basically the deal.

Ever since I found that, nothing is a challenge any more :)
