[plug] Gates promises compatible software

The most amusing part I found is this:

    "The internet is perhaps the most obvious example of this kind of
    interoperability, where any piece of software can connect and
    exchange data as long as it adheres to the key protocols," Mr Gates
    said.

Microsoft can hardly claim to create software that adheres to "key 
protocols".  There are that many pieces of software that have had 
workarounds written into them so that they work with broken Microsoft 
software its not funny.  That wouldn't have to happen if Microsoft did 
pay attention to standards and protocols.

This new "initiative" will probably be about as effective as their 
"trustworthy computing" initiative.
