Hi Onno,

Just a couple of quick questions which may help us to help you better.
Which window manager are you using (Gnome, KDE or something else)? 

Does it happen within all applications, or only when you are using some?

IIRC (If I Recall Correctly) and if you are using KDE, there's an option in the control centre regarding focus stealing.

It allows several levels of focus control. I'm not certain exactly where it is (can't check until I get back home) but I think that it's somewhere under display.

If you're not using KDE, let us know which window manager you're using, and we'll do our best to help you out.
