[plug] Modprobe question

With Fedora 3, I have managed to find out how to get my Advansys SCSI
controller working.
I now have a kernel module that does the job well, only thing is every
time I boot I have to do:

"modprobe advansys"
and then mount the drive.

I have added a line in /etc/modprobe.conf

alias scsi_hostadapter advansys.ko

which the system seems happy about.  And yet I still have to do the
"modprobe advansys" command after booting.
Is there something I am missing to make this all happen automagically?
