Unfortunately this isn't true. /Most/ Cameras are just simple mass media
storage devices or TWAIN (Windows?) devices that can also be used under
Linux with the correct drivers. There are unfortunately a few cameras
that have some sort of wierd 'secure' driver for windows that will just
not work under Linux (Stupid Sony...)

Also the same applies for some USB storage devices but IMHO they seem to
stick to standards a lot better than Cameras.

The /main/ reason CA want to test hardware is so that the distro will
work with as much old hardware as possible as well as new peripherals
that users may purchase later on as they progress into Computer Land.
