[plug] Can't Switch VT - Xorg

I have just installed Xorg on Debian using Ubuntu packages.
Everything appears to be working fine except I can no longer switch VT
with "Ctrl-Alt F1..."
I don't think this is related to my other keyboard problem as I could
switch using XFree86.

Any ideas?

p.s. Anyone know where I can get the binarys for Xorg utilities. e.g.
transset
