That's odd -- I don't have any problems with my Athlon XP 2400+
(my computer is my only television).

What application are you using?  xine/kaffeine plays things back very
nicely, so long as I don't set the deinterlacing too high (which is
documented as having very high requirements).

For the record, I'm using an AverTV DVB-T 771 and rendering to a 5900XT.
