Ah, I see what you want to do is unlink the two panes.  Not possible as
far as I know (and pointless in normal use as in a column freeze its
meant to keep the rows in each pane in their correct spatial
relationships)

I think you will have to resort to opening it twice and panel the two
views on the screen - that would work I think.
