[plug] where to find python C headers

I am trying to build the latest pygtk. configure complains that it can't
find the necessary python headers. This is correct, as there aren't any
on my system. My old python2.2 system has /usr/include/python2.2 from
the python-devel rpm, but my python 2.3.4 has none, since it has no
python-devel installed. All seems reasonable.
But where the @#$%#!! do I find the python-devel rpm on Mandrake 10.1??
I have searched all my CDs, mirrors, google - no luck. It appears that
it may also be called pthon-2.3.4-6mdk-devel or some such but I cannot
find anything like it. Can't find anything on 10.2 either (which has
python 2.4).
I tried downloading python-2.3.4-6mdk.src.rpm but it has no include
files either.
Hoping a python wizard out there may happen to know
thanks
Michael
