The other top fields to look at include DATA.
Interesting for me max memory usage is Firefox, but in terms of DATA
mysqld wins.
Just to give you some idea. On my Ubuntu workstation (with plenty of
ram as you would have seen in my last post). top 4 DATA procs. That's
with an uptime of 10 days.  I'd be interested to see what service you
have running that's leaking it's guts in memory.)
