Absolutely positively affirmative!!  I have this 1.5m ADSL connection 
and I use my old Maestro V90 modem for sending and receiving faxes and 
as a phone dialer.  No trick to it.  Simply treat the 2 lines as 
separate entities and do with the modem as you you would have before 
getting ADSL.

If it doesn't work for you then you have either ...
1. a line problem
2. a splitter problem
3. a filter problem
4. a modem problem
5. any combination of the above
