Bloody hell!! Everyone had fun being complete geeks!! You've either all
got too much time on your hands or too much imagination for your own good.
I can't believe some of the drivel that's being suggested - even by the
original poster with the problem. Why us a sledgehammer to crack a nut?
Just re-read my original _ideal_ answer (below) - wireless doorbell,
wireless doorbell, wireless doorbell, repeat after me ... They're not
expensive - take them anywhere in the house. Get a life.

Huff, huff, huff. Ahh. now I feel better.

(takes tongue out of cheek)

Gavin

Yeh, you won't have to look too hard to find a wireless doorbell from
the usual suspects - maybe even Kmart. If you place the receiver near
you they are load enough to hear above all except a jackhammer. I got
one for me ol' mammy who wasn't hearing the bell when out the back. She
now just takes the receiver with her when gardening and it seems to have
a good range of at least 30m tested so far.
