I'm having some problems mounting my 256MB, ~6month old, Astone USB
thumbdrive. It mounted at school this morning (Windoze), but at home,
it won't mount on Linux ( FC3, PII 350, 2.6.9-1.667 ), complaining
(dmesg):
usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using address 5
usb 1-2: device not accepting address 5, error -71
usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using address 6
usb 1-2: device not accepting address 6, error -71
It won't mount on my mac ( 10.2.8, 500Mhz G3 ) either, complaining
(also in dmesg):
USBF: 21832.483 AppleUSBOHCI[0x18ce000]::MakeDevice error
setting address. err=0xe00002ed device=0x1eda900 - releasing device
USBF: 21833.282 AppleUSBOHCI[0x18ce000]::MakeDevice error
setting address. err=0xe00002ed device=0x1eda900 - releasing device
USBF: 21834. 81 AppleUSBOHCI[0x18ce000]::MakeDevice error
setting address. err=0xe00002ed device=0x1eda900 - releasing device
USBF: 21834.881 AppleUSBOHCI[0x18ce000]::MakeDevice error
setting address. err=0xe00002ed device=0x1eda900 - releasing device
Any ideas? Is my drive toast? Are my computers USB busses toast? Is it
a transient error?
TIA,
Daniel Axtens
