Firewire for DV use only.
Check Caddy on system similar to yours capturing from your camera
before purchase as I have had issues with some for DV use. Now I
purchase complete manufactured external HD devices from LaCie no such
issues and they can be utilised in a Raid array with multiples over
Firewire.

Cheers!
