The first Holden to have the red engine was the 1963 EH which was a 179.
The first X2 engine was in the 1965 HD and as you stated correctly, the
first 186 was in the HR.
What has this got to do with Linux?
Well if it was a collaborative OS project, the engine would have been
available long before the suspension could keep up. It would be like
having a vehicle with the suspension and brakes of a billy cart powered
by a rocket engine.
Come to think of it, that's what they used to say about the Valiant Charger.
