Doesn't happen to me, with one exception; where the fan failed on a P4's 
heatsink, the el-cheapo motherboard didn't shut down (instructed the P4 
to keep going at full blast, whatever, it didn't throttle back), and 
the P4 kept running until a plastic clip softened and gave way, dumping 
the heatsink onto the back of the video card and killing the video 
card, CPU and motherboard, probably in that order. The drives survived.
