G'day All,

Yes, I've read the manual.

Yes, I've looked up the archives.

No, I'm not entirely sure what I am doing.

I am trying to help my daughter install Thunderbird, (on a Linux m/c). 
We have downloaded the the file called thunderbird-1.0.7.tar.gz.

I know that it is a compressed file.

These things I know for sure.

This is the hazy bit.

To uncompress this file, the command that I should issue is;

tar -xvjf thunderbird-1.0.7.tar.gz

Is this correct?
