Hello

Just a short update if you haven't visited the www.computerangels.org.au
web site recently.

Next Training Programme
Commencing Tuesday 8 November (mornings or afternoons). If you know
anyone who is eligible, please assist them to obtain the information
from our "Computers to the Community" page
(www.computerangels.org.au/participate.shtml). This includes a FAQ,
booking form, and poster for you to assist us to spread the word.

Depending on the demand, this may well be our last training programme
for the year that we can fit in before Christmas. Yes, even Computer
Angels' volunteers can look forward to a holiday break :) So book now!

Computers for Sale
Computer Angels sells the computers that we provide free to participants
that complete our training programme. This is to satisfy those that are
already familiar with using a computer and know what it is they wish to
purchase. Since Software Freedom Day, the computer system including
software made for Computer Angels, is available for $195. The next
Computer Sale day is Saturday 11 November, see:
www.computerangels.org.au/carpark.shtml All proceeds towards Computer
Angels' projects.

Computer Training Poster
We have found these
(www.computerangels.org.au/resources/computerangels_poster.pdf)
to be very effective posted in libraries, local shop noticeboard and
areas frequented by senior citizens. If you visit any particular area
frequently, consider downloading our poster often to freshen the
noticeboard. Note: The important thing to remember when requesting to
place a poster (e.g. library) is that we are a non-profit charitable
organisation.

News
Harry and I received special recognition for our volunteer activities,
including Computer Angels. We are looking forward to the award raising
the profile of Computer Angels further and encouraging new skilled
volunteers.

For those of you that missed out on celebrating Software Freedom Day
with Computer Angels, you may wish to see what we got up to
(www.computerangels.org.au/news.shtml). Again thanks to
volunteers that assisted us on the day.

Westnet Authorised Agent
Remember, Computer Angels is a Westnet Authorised Agent. So if you are
thinking of changing your ISP or know someone that is considering
Westnet, please consider guiding them to our home page to sign up.
Computer Angels receives a small trailing commission, and every little
bit helps.

Regards
Jacqueline
