Can people please reply to the off-topic list.. it's make some people grumpy :-P

Heh.. while we're at it why don't we _just_ build that canal right

I've read this proposal.. the water that comes up is still salt water
obviously no good for irrigation.
The method for making fresh water from this water is by
"condensation", and NOT in quantities high enough to do much with it.
Not that it's a bad idea... there are MANY fantastic uses for this
concept.. I doubt though that geographically speaking we have many
places in Australia that could make use of it.

Oh I wish that they would really crank up the hard drive, cdrom and
battery technologies... these are what really slow us down and have
been the slowest to evolve :-(

Singapore is a whole different kettle of fish.. They have a remarkable
Government.. one that seems to be VERY outcome focused... It's a place
for the young, ambitious
and hard working.
