This is the kind of thinking that leads to "Trusted Computing".
You need a locked-down box. But even that doesn't work.
You need to put the PC in a secure room. Stip-search customers
for recording devices as they enter. Only then can you protect your
IP rights.

A more practical approach is to watermark the files, so if someone
does redistribute, you know whom to sue.

But yeah, "cake consumption and retention" :-)
