Hi Michael
Looks like you misunderstand the intent of SSH.
With port forwarding you can forward a local port to any machine on the remote
network.
For example, I am sending you this email from work, ssh'ed into my gateway,
port forwarding to my internal webserver (running groupware).
The pop server doesnt have to be ssh enabled. As long as the box you are
sshing to can 'see' the pop server, you're golden.
