I was just thinking the same thing.
I like distrowatch, its an important hub for all things distro, but its this
kind of fascist dominating approach to administration is not helping anyone.
However I do see the need for a ban system of course, people can easily ruin
a forum/page with completely off-topic, derogatory or spam comments.
Really though, if he can't even accept a thankyou??

Just to clarify, the post was not offensive or objectable... more silly...

I tend to get annoyed by those posters who only say "thank you for another
great issue" or something similar. In future, if you want to thank me, just
send me a personal email. The comments section is there to discuss things
of general interest, preferably related to the topics disscussed in DWW,
and not for personal messages.
Anyway, I've removed the block from my firewall, so you should be able to
access the site again."
Jeez.. that's a bit harsh.. complete IP block for saying "thanks" 0.o
