I have just received my 2006 census forms and I have chosen the online 
option.

The supporting brochure states that suitable browsers are :

Internet Explorer, Netscape Communicator and Firefox.

This hopefully means that Linux users can do their 2006 census forms 
online using the Firefox browsers.

But you need to get a sealed envelope from your friendly census 
distribution people, when they deliver your census forms to your front 
door. This sealed envelope contains a unique ID number sequence which 
must be tied to the unique ID number of your census form.

Is this a hint that the government and particularly the ABS is starting 
to accept the fact that there is more than one type of computing 
environment available to users.

The thing now is to see if it will actually work for people using Firefox 
on Linux ??????
