Sorry for spammy.
Heres the post I made at Hamachi's forum:
Ok. Trying to get hamachi working on my Deb sarge box.
unpacked file.
make install
made the /dev/net/tun node as per instructions
tuncfg
hamachi start
hamachi ra ra ra ra and so on
All good so far.
So I try and log in from work. Ok. But no ping.
So I ssh in to home, and try and ping work.
I get this message;-
Code:
root at perthimc:/dev# hamachi list
* [<<deleted secret>>]
* 5.61.54.104 shayneatwork 202.61.224.249:8321
[<<deleted secret>>]
* 5.61.54.104 shayneatwork 202.61.224.249:8321
root at home:/dev# ping 5.61.54.104
PING 5.61.54.104 (5.61.54.104) 56(84) bytes of data.
ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted
ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted
ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted
(slightly altered)
I suspect a problem with the tun interface.
Code:
root at home:/dev# cat /dev/net/tun
cat: /dev/net/tun: File descriptor in bad state
root at home:/dev# lsmod | grep tun
tun 9280 1
root at home:/dev# ls -ld /dev/net/tun
crw-r--r-- 1 root root 10, 200 2006-08-16 13:40 /dev/net/tun
root at home:/dev# cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.8-3-k7 (root at lart) (gcc version 3.3.5 (Debian
1:3.3.5-13)) #1 Sat Jul 15 09:58:38 UTC 2006
So yeah. Debian sarge machine.
Any idea where to go from here?

No worries , thanks for the offer Kev.
I have FC5 at the point where I have the functionality I want/need from
Linux for the time being.
There is still quite a few "broken" things in my FC5 setup.
At least the things that work - are working really well.
Dual booting to Win XP covers my other (and family) needs on my
workstation.
Regards Arie
