Again the PC world scrambles to catch up with mainframes  ;-)

We had this on our VRA (Virtual Ramac Array) "disk farm" back in 2000 -
except then it was used to mirror whole disks at about a second per
"disk". it's an interesting application of COW (Copy On Write).
