[plug] - Mozilla problem(s)

Hi all,

I've just finished a brand new mandriva 2006.0 installation courtesy of three 
disks provided by Leon B.
Both Firefox and Thunderbird refuse to access the internet. Firefox indicates 
'connecting to http:\\www.google.com ' (say) and stops there, while T'bird 
just times out while trying to access mail.arach.net.au.
Kmail works ok and konqueror is fine too - problem seems to apply to the 
Mozilla programmes only.
Has anyone any suggestions please?
