[plug] mitsumi sr244w1 cd-rom drive (slim)

Hi,

Trying to install Debian 3.1R1 on a mitsumi sr244w1 cd-rom. It keeps on
saying that it doesn't recognise a cd drive in the system.

Has anyone else experienced this? work around?

I'm now going the USB or Floppy option to get around it as I've wasted
about 2hrs trying to get a driver to stick.
