After doing some research I found that I should have stated linux26 when doing the install. Now at a 515MB download I find that I do not want to rebuild the system but instead if possible to do a in place kernel upgrade.

Hi Jon,

http://mirror.pacific.net.au is an excellent source for debian stuff;
they even provide you with a sample sources.list for you to use which
utilises their site. The traffic flows over WAIX. Once you get the
package list from PacNet, you should see after updating (in apt,
aptitude or dselect) a 2.6 series kernel available.
