[plug] Laptop keymap issue.

Ok partial solution found;-

    loadkeys << EOF
    keycode 86 = backslash
    shift keycode 86 = bar
    EOF

can be run in a script to fix it.

Where should I put this? (Ugh, must clear cobwebs out of brain.)

Argh. It gets worse.

If I select any of the US keyboards, it makes no difference, its broken.

If I select a british keyboard, it fixes the problem of the |\ key, but
breaks half the other keys.

Maddening.

I had this problem a while ago -- someone set their keymap to british.
