Don't need mythbusters to figure that out, lightning has just arked from
$k's above the ground, another few metres and a few loops of wire isn't
going to get in it's way.
The loop method is only effectively used to supress noise.

Has anyone tried using the old trick of tying 3 small loops in the phone
cable and has seen if that works against lightning strikes?
Or is that one for Mythbusters?
